Before you get started, make sure you verify your email address and take these steps to safeguard your ProConnect Tax account security:

  1. Visit your ProConnect Account and verify your email.
  2. Ensure you have a strong password.
  3. Enable two-step verification.

Easy Start Checklist

1. Get set up for success.

Once you’re signed in to ProConnect, access the gear symbol at the lower left of your software for quick setup tools, including your Preparer Information and Firm Information profiles.

 
2. Provide your EFIN to be ready to e‑file.

To help protect you and your clients from fraudulent activity, the IRS requires Intuit to verify your EFIN (electronic filing identification number) before you’re able to e‑file through our system. Simply follow our step‑by‑step guide to either apply for a new EFIN or verify your existing EFIN.

Be sure to complete this step as soon as possible, as processing may take up to 45 days.

 
3. Convert data.

Skip the manual data entry with our automated data conversion wizard that lets you swiftly convert your clients’ past return data to ProConnect from just about any major software provider you previously used.

 
4. Access free training.

Learn the way you want, when you want, with complete training resources to help you make the most of your new software and navigate tax law changes. Take advantage of how-to videos and step-by-step articles, plus live and recorded webinars.

 
5. Use timesavers like missing data, document management, and Intuit Link

Tap into all of the bonus features we’ve built into ProConnect expressly to save you time and hassle. Flag fields to quickly identify gaps and reduce review time before you file with the missing data feature. Document management helps you organize and store documents by client so you can easily reference, retrieve, or share them with clients and others in your firm. Lastly, the Intuit Link online client portal simplifies the process of securely collecting client data.
